Charges are based on the type of event and amount of time required. The easiest way to get a price quote is to start by checking my availability. After you check the date, you will be asked what type of event you are having. Answer a few questions and press the quote button and you will be given a quote. You can have it emailed to you as well. If you were accurate on the information form, your quote will be accurate. We DON'T charge based on amount of guests. We also don't charge a travel fee unless it is more than 60 miles away (one way) from Oshkosh.
Do you require a deposit?
We usually require a $100 for all events except for charity events and some fundraisers. This small deposit holds your date exclusively for you. It is non-refundable because when we accept your deposit we take your date out of our availability checker. If we get other inquires for that date, we turn their request down. If you cancel for some reason, it is a small reimbursement for turning other possible business away. The deposit is higher for the Full Wedding package.
Am I obligated to hire you if I just fill out a contact form on your site?
You're not obligated until you pay the deposit and sign and mail the contract.
How far in advance should we book your services?
There is no definite answer to that. Some people book 12-15 months in advance. I have had several people book that far ahead with another service and then call me when that service had to back out of the date because they overbooked. I am generally available with only a few weeks notice, but some dates fill up fast. Summer months are very popular with couples getting married. September and October are becoming popular as well. For peace of mind, you should book as far ahead as possible. You will have one less detail to worry about as you plan your event.
Why do you require a contract?
The contract is mostly for your peace of mind. The contract is our committment to you that we are dedicated & committed to perform at your event. We have NEVER cancelled or not shown up for ANY reason to ANY event we have ever booked.
Do you subcontract your services?
NO. We perform at ALL events we sign a contract for. We have been asked to perform in place of other DJ's and have done so if available as a courtesy to fellow disc jockey services. When you hire All Request DJ's, we are your entertainer.
How early do you arrive for my event?
We generally arrive at least 2 hours in advance. We like to set up in advance, even if the contract doesn't include dinner/cocktail music. Your guests do not need to see us moving equipment around and doing sound/light checks. We do this out of respect for you, your guests and your event. 2 hours gives us time to set up, speak with venue personnel, conduct sound and light checks and go over your planner one last time before the event starts. It usually only takes 1 hour or less to dismantle our gear and be on our way after the event ends. We get repeated compliments from venues that they appreciate not having to wait around a long time for us to be done so they can go home. If the event is close to Oshkosh, we usually set up several hours before the event starts and return 15 minutes before starting time.
Do you interact with my guests?
We will interact with your guests as much as is required. We have talked to many prospective clients that were worried about turning their event into a "circus". We have worked with many types of personalities and individuals in our 30 years of performing. We have been in many different environments. Although similar, each event is unique and we treat it as such. We will be as interactive as you'd like us to be. At weddings where the bride and groom throw the bouquet and garter, we're out on the floor with them interacting with them and the crowd.
Silly rabbit, why do you think we're called "All Request DJ's" ?
Can my guests bring CD's?
Yes. Even though we have a large music collection, there is sure to be something we don't have. We have found everyone has a favorite song or songs that's unique to them. Beware of any disc jockey service that says they have "every song" you can think of. Even if they claim to have over 100,000 songs, we guarantee you'd be able to come up with something they don't have. Taking advance requests from both you and your guests from this website minimizes the chances of not having something you or your guests would like to hear.
Speaking of music, what types of music do you have?
We have music from the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's to today's hits. Genres include instrumental, big band, jazz, classic rock, contemporary rock, country, alternative, reggae, swing, hip-hop, rap, disco, R&B, pop, polkas and waltzes.
Is your music on CD's, MP3's or vinyl?
We stopped carrying vinyl quite a few years ago. From vinyl we went to CD's, which we bring to every event as a backup. In 2008, we converted our music collection to MP3 standards. In the past, MP3's got a bad rap. When most people think of MP3's they think of illegal downloads and inferior quality. All of our MP3 purchases are through legitimate, licensed music providers. Occasionally we still purchase CD's and convert them to MP3 at the highest bitrate available. MP3's have advanced in quality and availability and the higher the bitrate, the better the quality. Even most older songs are now available as MP3's. (Except the Beatles and some other artists who are holding out). We prefer MP3's because when we updated our audio equipment, we purchased a very expensive, professional MP3 deck. It enables us to attach a keyboard and search quickly for music and put it into the rotation. Flipping through CD's is time consuming and tiring. We do bring CD's as a backup to our MP3 system in case of an unlikely and unanticipated system failure.
What type of equipment do you have?
Our speakers are made by JBL Pro Sound. JBL has been manufacturing superior quality, professional equipment for longer than we've been alive. The clarity, portability and power are virtually unmatched by any other brand. I use audio decks and mixers by Numark and Stanton. I have various lighting effects by American DJ and Chauvet. We are always re-investing in new, more modern and advanced equipment.
What music will be played at my event?
You have total control over what type of music is played at your event. Our planners ask questions to find out your preferences. We will always honor your wishes, first and foremost. If you have specified that certain songs or music not be played, we politely and diplomatically explain that to your guests if they request something you've asked not to hear. We never go to any event with a totally predetermined "playlist". Our experience in this industry gives us a very unique ability to adjust the tempo and style of the music to satisfy almost every guest. You always have the final say over what is and isn't played at your event. We have talked to potential clients that have commented that they were at weddings where the DJ played songs that they weren't supposed to. We believe that is TOTALLY unacceptable and unprofessional.
